Firefox3 on Windows XP

I had Firefox 2 on my Windows XP machine. It was working absolutely fine.
Today I downloaded Firefox 3 and installed it in the same machine. I thought it would update existing Firefox2. But since I have installed it, Firefox is not opening. When I click on the Firefox icon nothing happens.Start Free Trial
