Browse All TopicsI have mozilla-firefox 3.01 bookmarks which contain folders ANIMALS and THINGS BEGINNING WITH D.
I want DOGS to be a subfolder of both ANIMALS and THINGS BEGINNING WITH D.
But when I add a new entry to the DOGS folder underneath ANIMALS, I want the DOGS folder underneath THINGS BEGINNING WITH D to be automatically updated. In other words, there should be only one DOGS folder but there should be links to it from the ANIMALS folder and from the THINGS BEGINNING WITH D folder.
How can I do this?

Oh, after reading the above page.
Library
You can use tags to put one bookmark into multiple virtual folders. To access your tags in the Library:
1. Click on the Bookmarks menu and select Organize Bookmarks... to open the Library window.
2. On the left side of the Library window, click the +arrow next to the the Tags item. The list of tags will expand.
3. Click on a tag to show what bookmarks are associated with it.
4. Double click on a bookmark in the list to open it in Firefox.
Smart Folders
You can add tags to bookmarks so they will show up in search results that you save as Smart Folder. For example, if you want to make a smart bookmark folder for "shopping" sites, you could bookmark and tag http://store.mozilla.org/ with shopping so it will show in the Smart Folder search results even though the Mozilla Store doesn't have "shopping" in its web address or page title. For more information, see the Smart Bookmarks Folders article.

Currently the Bookmarks doesn't handle Shortcuts.
You can Copy a folder into another Folder but you can't just use a Pointer and have one folder.
You can't keep them Synchronized or Auto Updated.
Rather then use the Bookmarks Folders as sorting, how about getting used to using TAGS? You can put a shortcut in any folder but label it with a TAG as Dog or what ever tag you desire.
This add-on may help if you decide to go that route.
