www.facebook.com not displaying properly

Hi,
I have a computer that is coming up with an error on facebook pages.  The pages then dont display properly.

The error is

Message: Object doesn't support this property or method

and line 23 contains the following

I have upgraded to ie8, installed firefox, reset internet explorer, researched google and haven't got any idea what is causing this to happen.

Weird problem, can we know if you're behind a proxy/firewall (school, libraries have those generally), your security settings for the browser (if u changed them), what antivirus you're using, you're OS?

Only windows firewall - did have k9 running but set that not to block and same result.  Home computer and ADSL with a DLink modem.  Reset the browser so base settings no addons Vista 32 bit upgraded to latest service packs (after problem was found) AVG free antivirus (check the settings in that - nothing unusual)

Hi

When you installed Firefox, did you select the option : Import settings from Internet Explorer.
If yes install another browser: Opera / Avant etc. just to check if its browser related or not.
You could also check if stuff like Active X is up to date.

Tried Chrome - some problem.  No I didnt import settings and I reset Explorer to defaults.  Facebook has never worked on this machine - only tried recently

The computer was using hosts manager that put an entry in the hosts file for http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/ which is required by facebook
