Mozilla Firefox 3.5.3 crashes on startup

I have had a strange problem with one of the HP d330m desktops on our network. The machine runs fine except it wont run Firefox, it comes up with the Mozilla Crash Reporter and has the following message

I have tried reinstalling the machine from scratch with windows xp professional and I still get the same error.
Also tried installing 3.5.2 with the same result.

Any ideas that might help?
