The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Windows XP Cookies

Greetings all. I am trying to help my Brother's son with this issue. He is trying to log on to his schools website for course information and the logon page keeps telling him that he needs to allow cookies. I was there last night and tried many things to fix this. The Computer is a Compaq Presario, Win XP, SP1, IE6. The Firewall is DIS-ABLED. I checked his Internet options and set the privacy and security as follows:
I added the scool website to both Trusted Sites and ALLOW COOKIES. I tried setting security too as low as it would go. I turned off or lowered everything there and still no luck. To check things, I tried logging in with his info from both a W98SE system and W2000 system I have at home and had no trouble. For some reason, it is not allowing cookies through even though I set things up for it to do so. He is not running any other firewall and no Internet Security software other than Norton Antivirus 2007.
