The Solution Rating System

Internet Explorer 7 pop-ups take a long time to load 5-10 seconds

I have a box at home that runs Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all updates.  I also have IE7.  I’ve been having an issue where IE7 takes about 5-10 seconds to open a pop-up window.

For instance, if I go to Amazon.com and look at an item and then click on the picture to see a larger version of it.  That particular pop-up will take roughly 5-10 seconds before the pop-up even appears.  I have a similar box with similar hardware here and it doesn’t occur.

I have disabled all add-ons, cleared cache and all the temp files etc. and still have the same issue.  Does anyone have any idea what might be causing IE7 to take so long when a pop-up window is queued?
