Lost an IE7 Favorites Folder --Need it back desperately!

I was using IE7 (XP Pro) and had one Favorite highlighted, hit the Delete button and reflexively Entered Yes at the confirmation dialog box.  Then the entire Favorites FOLDER, in which the single Favorite I meant to delete had resided, just disappeared.  In a panic, I opened the Recycle Bin --where individual Favorites I delete always end up-- and there's NOTHING, no trace of the whole Folder accidentally deleted.  I am desperate to get this Folder and its contents back.  No Backup, alas.  

What the hell happened and is there any way to get this back?  Maybe a System restore to yesterday??
