I tried removing IE7 and going back to IE6 and had the same problems before going nack and reinsatlling IE7. Since that is teh case, should I still try 1) turning off extension and/or resetting IE
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI use IE7 exclusively as my browser. At least 10 tiems a day, My Browser crashes at different times doing very different things. After each crash, an error message is genearted that say IE7 terminated and indicating that the "offending" module was NTDLL.DLL. I've tried reloading IE7, cehcking drivers, changing memory, disabling all startup applications and disabling all services other than those critical to running teh operating system. Don't know waht to do at thsi point???

I am guessing, you can't/don't want to try another browser, but just so it is out there, Firefox is great
www.mozilla.org
A chkdsk on your drive would also be a good thing to do
from the dos prompt
chkdsk /F
That will require a restart, but it will check your disk for errors and fix any that are found
just found this, I have not tried it though so I don't know what the result would be, but I don't have the environment variable that they mention, and my IE is fine

Right click My Computer. Click properties. Choose the advanced tab. click environment variables. if you have a system variable called "NLSPATH" you need to delete it or rename it (select the variable, click edit, and change the name). Note that this might mess up what put NLSPATH there in the first place.

Forget about the last recommendation, no NLSPATH in listing.
I know Firefox is an alternative and that might be a long term solution.
I just did the reset as you suggested and didn't realize that reset means reinsatllimg IE7. Not sure I wanted to di that since I've now lost all my add-in and google search toolbar. Oh well, whats done is done. I'll try runnning thsi "reset"/reinsatll and see what happens and get back to you
Also, scan with SUPERAntiSpyware (http://www.superantispywa
No, there is no need to panic, you should be able to restore the google toolbar, just reinstall it.
And the extensions have not been turned off permanently, that command I gave you only turns off the add-ins for that execution.
The idea is to run that instance with the add-ins off, to see if you still have the problem, if you don't then you know it is one of the add-ins that is crashing IE
OK, everything is back to normal. I realized that in order to get teh toolbar back you just had to enable the add-in(s) for Google... Done!
Everthing else seem to be running fine.
I've been running for about 2 hours with no IE7 crashes!!! This would be great if either the reset or turning ext off worked!!! Let e work with it today and if no problems, I'll post back.
Thanks a lot. I'll let you know if that did it
Soory for the panic, however, I got freaked for a bit!! My issue to deal with. You've been very very helpful and I believe the problem might be solved (knock wood). I've been dealing with this since the last major update applied to IE7!! In addition to this problem, teh system was panicing and rebooting but that turned out to be a bad memory issue. I'll be thrilled if this works. I'll work another 4 hours and if no crashes, I'll accept the solution.
Thanks Again
Lew

Could be an incompatible extension, try turning off your extensions

Try resetting IE

Still no joy, try uninstalling IE7, it will revert to IE6, then you can reinstall IE7
