The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How Do I Completely Remove and Reinstall IE7 ?

Asked by pbissegger in Internet Explorer Web Browser, Web Browsers, Windows XP Operating System

Tags: , , , ,

Hi.

I am having an issue with Internet Explorer where it will not print web pages (it prints the html code instead). I posted a question to ask for help, but nobody was able to resolve it.

That's fine, I'll just repair it or reinstall it. That's what I thought. Silly me.

I have tried a couple of things, to no avail:

1. I have gone to Add / Remove Programs, and selected "Add/Remove Windows Components" and deselected Internet Explorer, but it gives me an error. I have reselected it, but it gives me an error.

2. I have gone to Add / Remove Programs, and selected show updates, and I see internet explorer, but it doesn't give me any opportunity to repair or remove it - I can only repair / remove the security updates that I installed since ie7 was installed.

3. I have tried running the install again (by the way, this is the worst install engine I have every seen from any software vendor in my life - I cannot believe that Micrsoft released their browser using this install engine - but then again, Microsoft has let us down many times before), but after 45 minutes it just says that "The install was unable to complete". No error message ... nothing.

Can someone help me find a way to completely uninstall ie7, so (and I cringe when I say this) that I can reinstall it ?

Thanks, PeteStart Free Trial
