Yes, I actually did.

Browse All TopicsUsing Dell Remote Access Controller 5, I am unable to use the console function to access servers from my workstation. It works on other servers, so I know the DRAC settings and configuration is correct. From only one workstation, when I click console, I get a popup (normally the window where I see the screen), at the top it tells me download an activeX control (ActiveXVideoViewer.cab), so I right-click the yellow bar on the top and select "Download ActiveX control", then I get the message "Windows has blocked this software because it can't verify the publisher". I go into Tools>Internet Options, under security add the DRAC url to trusted sites, under Advanced I checked all "Allow" boxes, especially "Allow software to run or install even if the signature is invalid" and unchecked all "Check" boxes, especially "Check for signatures on downloaded programs", restarted IE, and I still get the same message. I found one clue on here about Microsoft Java Virtual Machine, but the page on the MS page put that at end of life.....
What on Earth could be stopping it now???

It took some digging once I followed the link, but it led me to the answer.
I changed the security level for the "Trusted sites" zone to PROMPT for downloading unsigned ActiveX controls, rather than disable, and it worked. I assumed the default security level for trusted sites would suffice, and that was my mistake.
Thanks to all for the help, kudos to 2PiFL for the tip that led to the answer!!

in internet explorer, goto tools, internet options, security, trusted sites (click sites) add the website you are trying to download the active x component from but add it with https://?
