Hello m171271,

The login problem may be due to a corrupted cookie or Hotmail servers are slow. Clear the cookies files and cache in your browser.

Try alternate login address https://login.live.com/login.srf

Hope this helps!

There seems to be a bigger problem with your IE7 browser.

1. An addon may be interfering with IE. Disable Addons.  Go to Tools > Add-on Manager, and uncheck the addons.

If you cannot open IE, start IE without addons.  Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No add-ons).

2. Reset IE settings.  Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.  Click on "Reset" button. Click OK. Close all browsers. Reboot the computer.

3. Check if a program running in the background is interfering with Internet Explorer. Temporarily disable antivirus, firewall, antispyware, ad-blocker, popup blocker, and all Norton programs.

4. Uninstall and reinstall IE7. Make sure you have the latest updates.

Ok I have done all of the above and still getting blank white sign in page. This is quiet perplexing, I understand IE7 Is intergrated to vista. Is there a way to repair IE Without a o/s reinstall? SCF finds corrupt files but is unable to repair them. The CBS Log file is 50mb any pointers so maybe do a quick  search for words numbers in it etc?

1. To run the System File Checker, open a Command Window in Administrator mode:

* click Start
* click All Programs, then Accessories
* right click on the Command Prompt option,
* on the drop down menu which appears, click on the Run as Administrator option.
* If you haven’t disabled User Account Control (and you shouldn’t!) you will be asked for authorisation. Click the Continue button if you are the administrator or insert the administrator password.

2. Start the System File Checker

* In the Command Prompt window, type: sfc /scannow,
* press Enter.
* You’ll see “the system scan will begin”.

The scan may take some time and windows will repair/replace any corrupt or missing files. You will be asked to insert your Vista DVD if it’s needed.
