Can't stop Internet Explorer script error notification

I continually receive the Internet Explorer script error popup window. "An error has occured in the script on this page" It typically has an "Object Required" error. Please note that I have already tried all the fixes inclucing disabling the script notification in IE, re-registring dlls, updateing the script engine, reinstalling IE and everything else I can think of. I have been searching on this for some time and nothing seems to work.

Exit IE - restart IE?

Download Firefox, addin Firebug and view one of the pages that throws an error. Firebug will tell you *exactly* what it doesn't like.

Your OS is XP correct? Have you tried using IE7 and maybe downgraded from it? It seems like this in IE6 but please confirm. If you haven't tried IE7 then is an upgrade an option? On XP I actually prefer IE7 and that upgrade may fix this.

Odd problem. Try logging in as a different user. Go to Internet Options in Control Panel and make the changes Badotz recommended above. Then start IE and does that user have the same problem?

Also, sometimes you may get script errors if your IE security settings are too high and sometimes if you have websites in your hosts file. Have you checked them?

Do you run any Norton security product?
Is this something new? If so you could try a System Restore to a date before this started.
There are tons of references to the message you post, but the issues are all over the map

though there seems to be some connection to Visual Basic code in this case.
