IE6 freezes

Asked by normanml in Internet Explorer Web Browser

Tags: , ,

Using IE6 (XP/SP2) I'm trying to save and reopen the following WEB site:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/25/magazine/25lives-t.html?_r=1&ref=magazine&oref=slogin

1. With this PARTICULAR WEBsite, I cannot save it as Web Page Complete. I get a dialog that says simply can not save.

2. I can save it as .htm or .mht, BUT when I set IE6 to offline and try to open either saved file, I get the yellow content bar, and when I "allow" the content, IE6 freezes completely and I have to quit the program.

3. Using FireFox I can open the .htm file without problems but not the .mht file.

I'm sure I'm going to be advised to upgade to IE7, but what's going on with IE6 and this particular site. I can save other sites in IE6 at either htm or complete pages.Start Free Trial
