The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

After Website Update only one computer cannot see 1 image that was updated???

Asked by netadmin2004 in Internet Explorer Web Browser, Anti-Virus

This is probably the weirdest thing I've experienced so far. I made a change to our company website in witch only 1 image was uploaded and took the place of another image. I get a call today from the owner explaining she cannot see the new image... Nothing is there. She went to a series of other websites and they all load fine... So I double check all our computers, check my phone, my other boss's phone and home computer, 5 other friends, my mother (EVERYONE) and everyone can see this image but the owner. So I've now walked the owner through running spybot. Uninstalling firefox and reinstalling, checking internet explorer (both IE and FireFox do not show this change on only this machine). Computer is up to date, spyware has been checked with spybot and removed, all non esential entries have been removed using HiJack this, computer has been restarted several times... I even changed the image type from .jpg to .png in which every machine again not including hers shows the update.

I've went further and giving the exact url of the image to display. Nothing. The page shows nothing as if the file is there (hence no page error) but the image can't show and asked to do a search in the source code for the file name of the image. The file name doesnt show up as if her browsers are p[ulling everything but the update. Any clue anyone?Start Free Trial
