The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Random Crashes On Internet Explorer & Windows Itself

This will be a tough one I'm presuming...
Okay, this customers computer we had to ghost her drive a couple weeks back.  It was already failing S.M.A.R.T. and even though it booted up fine, it did have numerous bad sectors on it.  It took three days, but we got her hard drive ghosted to a new drive with the same brand and model.
After such, we rebooted and everything worked fine except problems with Norton GoBack.  That was to be expected because supposedly those files were in the bad sectors (go figure, huh? :P )  So, she simply didn't use the GoBack, and as far as we know, she had a Symantec representative reinstall it for her across the internet.
So, here's where the problem comes in.  Internet Explorer 7 crashes at the most random of times.  I thought I had it figured out, but it's different modules that are crashing.  A couple of the ones we've been seeing is mshtml.dll, ntdll.dll, rf.dll, and ieui.dll.
Also, recently I got winlogon.exe to fault because of wgalogon.dll.  This computer is being frustrating!
I've already tried disabling all the add-ons.  I found which ones I thought were crashing it.  One of them turned out to be Diagnose Connection Problems!  I've uninstalled all the Internet Explorer updates and uninstalled Internet Explorer 7 itself.  Then, rebooted twice and reinstalled Internet Explorer 7 and all of it's updates.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!  Thank you!

P.S.  She's running Windows XP Home Edition SP3
