When I browse my gmail email, there is a delay when I move (up,down,right, and left) approximately 5 seconds. For example, when I move down gmail freezes and after 5 sec the page goes down. This problem occures only in gmail. I didn't face this problem when my laptop's system was WinXP.

Is the computer old, slow, or loaded up with open applications? Gmail is ajax heavy which can produce somewhat of a load on a browser.
