The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

intmittantly getting "page cannot Be Displayed

Asked by Th3Fo0L in Internet Explorer Web Browser, Web Browsers, Wireless Local Area Network

i have an intermittant problem when going to search engines such at yahoo or any site in general whereas sometimes it will affect whole pages and sometimes it will affect just a single image, or ad. there is no pattern in which it will come up "page cannot be displayed".  i have tried multiple things to try resolving this issue. and have found only one solution but im hoping theres more to it than simply whe i did.

i am running windows xp media for Toshiba sattelite

-reset modem to factory defaults
-reset network router to factory defaults
-reformatted computer.
-uninstalled and re-installed internet explorer 7.0
-tested on windows internet explorer 5.0, 7.0, and 8.0 beta
-set internet settings in all fields to factory defaults.
-reset ipconfig/renew
/ipconfig/dnsjunk and renewed.

all of which did not change the intermittant problem of "page cannot be displayed.

what did work is that i had bridged the connection on the 1394 i believe i had bridged it over to the wireless connection either that or the local area network connection. upon doing so, all pages began comming up fine. im just wondering what in the 1394 setup could cause such a broblem that it retains the problem even after a reformat?Start Free Trial
