I am having trouble with Internet Explorer. It will not open. I tried repairing it, uninstall/reinstall, sfc /scannow, repair installation of Windows XP. Once in a while I get an error but most of the time it does nothing when clicking the icon. Here are the errors I get:
1)Window "Run D1132.exe Ordinal not found" appeared which stated that 'Ordinal 237 could not be located in the dynamic link library IEFRAME.dll'.
2)Window "RUNDLL" appeared - 'Error loading InetCpl.cpl. The operating system cannot run %1'.
I installed Firefox and can browse the web but I would like to get this fixed. I cannot run Windows Update.

OK I tried what you said but unfortunately I could not uninstall IE7 due to not beign able to uninstall SP3. After a while trying to get past all that, I decided to install IE8. IE8 is working fine including Windows Updates. I tried three prescribed methods to remove SP3 but to no avail. Apparently IE7 will not even give me an uninstall option until SP3 is removed. However, I can live with IE8 since everything else is working fine.
anvanster - I know what you suggested is correct, so I am giving you the credit for this. THANKS!

Before you perform a repair installation of Microsoft Windows XP, you must
uninstall Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 from the Windows XP-based computer.
If you perform a repair installation of Windows XP when Internet Explorer 7
is still installed, Internet Explorer will not work after the repair is
completed.
Try to uninstall IE7 then repair windows
