Browse All TopicsI am unable to delete browsing History in INternet Explorer 8. I try to delete the browsing History from Tools -> options delete browsing History. Still, i see the history and am unable to delete it.

Let me share few more details
when i type any url for eg. google.com, so when i start typing "goo.... to complete the word google. it shows me gmail.com and other things that i have search in the past in google.com it shows the url of the google search page where i search the information and it shows www.gmail.com though i did not open gmail after deleting browsing history.................
if i open any websites now for eg. rediffmail.com, wikipedia.org and some other sites. then i delete the browsing history and then when i open IE8 and then try to type rediffmail.com when i am typing "redif....... it does not give me the history but for google and some other sites like microsoft.com it shows history of couple of weeks back which i had visited.
If you Open Internet Explorer then go to Tools>Internet Options, Click on the content tab and in the personal information tab click on auto complete. This will give you a list of what to save for future reference.
Under the General Tab there is a button "clear history" this should do the trick..
Alternatively if you run regedit and expand to the following location:
HKey_Current_User\Software
Then you can select the enteries and delete from there...

In Windows XP the History files are stored in the following location <replace username with your username, you will have to enable hidden folders.
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\History
