open "run" write "regedit"

If you dont have all path create.
add "DWORD" with name "NoFavorites" to 1.

id back up the registry and the favorites first tho
You do not have any direct method to remove the Favourite tab, however as stated above it will help you get rid of it.
Remember you would not be able to utilise the space even if the tab is removed
