Active x problem

I try to get onto a website that is using Active X but it will not allow me to continue. I made sure that all the Active X security options were allowed but still did not allow me access. i.e allowed signed active x controls, run active x controls plug in and active x controls for scripting. Usually IE has a prompt near the top of the screen prompting to install active x control but none has appeared . The PC is XP sp3 running IE7.

running any security program which can possibly block activex components completely?
if nothing like this and it was working fine before ,try resetting IE to its default settings and all the security zones to their default levels.

Are you getting any error messages?

If the  problem occurs on all websites and there are no error messages try running IE without add-ons. Start|All Programs|Accessories|System Tools|Internet Explorer (no Add-ons)
