Something you might try after exhausting all others is turning DEP (Data Execution Prevention) off. In my experience it causes more problems than it solves.....but that is just my experience. It seemed to be a kajilion times worse on Vista. Right click My Computer, choose properties, then go to the Advanced tab. Then click the settings for the Startup/Recovery stuff. Then click Edit for the System Startup stuff. Change the /NoExecute to /NoExecute=AlwaysOff. Save changes, close notepad. Restart the computer. That will disable DEP.
