Why am I getting a message saying I'm running without add-ons when I start Internet Explorer?
This message appears when Internet Explorer is opened with add-ons disabled. To run Internet Explorer normally (with add-ons turned on), make sure to select Internet Explorer on the Start menu and do not click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
How do I manage add-ons if the menu item is dimmed in Internet Explorer 7?
The Manage Add-ons option on the Tools menu is disabled when Internet Explorer 7 is running in no add-on mode. You can still manage add-ons, but you must do so by using Internet Options in Control Panel. Here's how:
1. Open Internet Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options.
2. Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons.
NoteThe changes you make will not take effect until you restart Internet Explorer normally (when you are not using no add-on mode).
How can I re-enable a browser add-on?
You might want to re-enable a browser add-on if you disabled an add-on but want to go to a site that requires it, or if disabling the add-on caused general display problems with webpages or Internet Explorer.
To re-enable an add-on in Internet Explorer 8
1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.
3. Under Show, click All add-ons.
4. Click the add-on you want to enable, and then click Enable.
5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on you want to enable. When you are finished, click Close.
To re-enable an add-on in Internet Explorer 7

2. Click the Tools button, point to Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.
3. In the Show list, click Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer to display all add-ons.
4. Click the add-on you want to enable, and then click Enable.
5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on you want to enable. When you are finished, click OK.
