VLookup in Excel 2007

I am trying to do a vlookup and the result keeps coming up as N/A.  THe value in the cell that I am using as my lookup value is a formula.  That result is obtained from another cell with a formula.  My question is, does the VLookup care if all the values that I am pulling from are formula's and not straight values?

No.

But if you don't expect the NA then you shoudl ensure that the value outputs of the formuals are in fact indentical

Do you have a sample file that you can share?

Like dave said the values should be indentical for vlookup otherwise it wont work as it gives you the match of that value only from your reference.

Enclosed is the workbook for your reference which talks about how vlookup works.

Assuming that the values are the same.. In some cases the vlookup will return N/A due to issues with formatting.. If your numbers or data is the same please post.. So we can take a closer look

When using VLOOKUP or HLOOKUP I found that the most secure way not to return an error was to add" IF (NOT ISERROR(YourVLookupInstruction),YourExpectedResultCaseTrue,"")
