I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
Client reported a problem viewing updates to their web site which is hosted externally.
Client explained that after the site was updated by an outside web firm, the old site would continue to display when viewed from any of their office workstations. Any workstation outside the office would immediately show the changes. The only way they were able to display the updated site was to clear out their entire internet cache AND reboot, and then the office workstations would see the new changes.
I tested this myself. Refreshing the page did nothing. Clearing your cache without rebooting did nothing. They're using IE 6 / 7, so I installed FireFox which exhibited the same behavior.
When they clear the cache, they also delete cookies, I'm not sure if that's required for the fix or not.
They're running a SonicWall TZ-170 Firewall / Router internally, but it doesn't do any type of web caching.
Any ideas Experts?
Thanks!
