Internet Not working - Vista

Asked by jnelson1078 in Windows Vista, Wireless Network Cards & Adapters, Internet Explorer Web Browser

The computer had viruses and they were cleaned off. The Internet did not work before and I was hoping removing the viruses would fix the problem. The internet still doesn't work, neither wireless or wired. I can ping the gateway so I know the NICs function. I reset IE and tried firefox. I know how to repair the winsock in XP, but not in Vista. Any assistance would be great. Thanks
