Have you got any other browsers installed?
It may be a firefox-compatibility thing or it may be kernel related... Having reinstalled flash after the upgrade would definitely help though. :)

I am having problems with my Linux Ubuntu Machine at home. Every since I upgraded the Kernel to 7.10 from 6.10. Once I tried to run a video with Firefox Mozilla the whole machine freezes up and I have to reboot the machine. I tried searching for media player packets like for Adove flash and Macromedia and I had some improvement. Any advice on this will be gladly appreciated. Cheers, M

I had a similar problem after installing Gnash SWF player so I reinstalled Firefox and installed the Adobe Flash Player plugin through Firefox. No problems since.
