rtholder,
1. Check if a plugin is interfering. Disable Google Toolbar and other plugins
2. If no joy, clear your cache and cookies files.
3. If no joy, reset the browser to default settings.
4. If no joy, create a new Netscape profile. Trick Netscape into creating a new profile by activating my Windows guest account. since this has never been used, there was no user profile for Netscape.
5. Reinstall Netscape browser.

Netscape keeps stats on everything you do. And Netscape publishes them to a web site ns8-stats.netscape.com Something is wrong with this web site and it can not be found and NETSCAPE continues to try to find it.
s\etc\host s and add "127.0.0.1 ns8-stats.netscape.com" to the end of the file, here is a example of what it should look like after adding the line:
Use notepad and edit the hosts file in the windows directory. For Windows XP : C:\windows\system32\driver
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 ns8-stats.netscape.com
Save the file and restart the your computer. This has solved the problem for me until Netscape corrects the the web site. Or hopefully provides a fix that will handle when this site is down.
