The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

IE 3.02 doesn't show a thing/doesn't respond

Hi,
I'm new here, but have a BIG problem. In my office it's (at this moment) not possible to upgrade to IE4.
My problem is with IE 3.02
One of my employees has something really weird with IE3.02. When the program loads, it shows the main window, but that's all.
When typing in an address and hitting Enter -> no effect (the IE-logo won't start to turn round either)
When hitting the menu "Edit", the menu only shows a separator bar, no menu items
When hitting the menu "File" it only shows "Exit"
The bookmarks are in their list, but don't work when hitting one of them
I can change the option "Toolbar", this works
The area where the webpage should show up, doesn't refresh at all. When starting, it's grey, when another window lays on top of it and I remove it, it doesn't refresh (it looks like as though it's still there).
All other programs work fine, including Exchange

Important (I think)
- The computer is a P133 Compaq model
- 32 Mb/1Mb graphics card
- Windows 95
- LAN network. TCP/IP
- The modem resides on the server.
- I've tried several times to uninstall/install IE 3.02.
- I'm not able (nor is my employee) to trace what exactly happened just before this strange behaviour started.

Again: I am not able to upgrade at this stage!
Please! If anyone can help me out with this, reply! I'm putting in all my points, because I really need to be able to run IE on that computer.

Thanks,
