However if the focus is in any of the fields, eg Textbox etc, backspace is working properly.
If I use the following logic to disable backapce backspace is getting disabled for the entire page, including the form fields.
Is there a way to disable the backspace at the window or document level and enable it back when the focus is on any of the form fields.
<script language="JavaSCript"><!--
function mykeyhandler() {
if (window.event && window.event.keyCode == 8) { // try to cancel the backspace
window.event.cancelBubble = true;
window.event.returnValue = false;
return false;
}
}
document.onkeydown = mykeyhandler;
//--></script>
