Main Topics
Browse All TopicsThis is very strange...i cannot get IE to install Flash Player for some reason. I went to the macromedia site and tried to install the player, but even that will not work. Any idea what is going on? Anyone faced this issue?

NPROTECT.EXE is Norton protect for your computer. Set Norton Protect to low when you install Flash.
Firewall can also interfere with Flash download. Temporarily disable firewall when installing Flash. Don't forget to turn it back on when done.
Also, you said you have Shockwave installed? Sometimes, Flash is called Shockwave Flash, as the install page calls it and shows in the View Objects tab. So maybe you hae Flash install and do not know it.
You can download the stand-alone flash installer here:
http://www.softwarepatch.c
download the file, close internet explorer and install the flash player. Once done you can open Internet Explorer and flash should work.
Hope this helps.

You may have a corrupted install. Uninstall the Flash player from Add/Remove Programs. Then go to IE Options menu to make sure the BHO is removed. With IE open, go to Tools > Internet Options > General tab. Under Temporary Internet Files, go to Settings > View Objects. Make sure Shockwave Flash is deleted.
Now install Flash from

Best wishes!
