changing firefox default print page size

Is it possible to alter firefox's default print size to 'A4' from 'Letter'

there doesn't seem to be an option in the options menu.

it only seems to be some web pages!

Greetings, alexgreen !

This is a printer setting, not Firefox.  Go to File > Print > Properties > Paper.  Change the paper size to A4.

If your printer allows you to change the paper size as default, then you don't have to change it everytime.

not solved the problem unfortunately

like I said, it only happens with some web pages

All other applications function perfectly with A4 as default.

To check if the problem is Firefox or that the website is calling out Letter size to print, try another browser.  What happens to print page type in Internet Explorer in the Firefox problem websites.

Pop-ups blocked on my other browser so can't get that page to open anyway on anything but firesox
can't be mithered with it now, have the points, i can change things manually

I have the same problem and it is very frustrating.  Default page size is 8.5 x 11.  All programs honor that setting EXCEPT Firefox.  Internet Explorer also prints 8.5 x 11.  I cannot change settings manually as alexgreen.  Page setup does not include page size - only margins.  I ended up doing cut and paste everytime I need to print something from Firefox.  ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
