I have a strange (but I suspect simple) problem. When attempting to use Remote Web Workplace I am getting the following error message
"This portion of the Remote Web Workplace requires the Microsoft Remote Desktop ActiveX Control. Your browser's security settings may be preventing you from downloading ActiveX controls. Adjust these settings, and try to connect again."
I have tried setting all of the security settings to default, and then minimal in IE6 but the problem persists
Any suggestions would be welcome

If you are on the domain your admin may be blocking it, read here: http://support.microsoft.c
Here is a solution from another post I found if you have Spybot installed, it may be blocking it:
Spybot made a registry entry to set the kill bit for the Microsoft RDP
ActiveX control. Although the latest Spybot updates no longer immunize
against this control, it's apparently unable to undo the existing block, so
you have to do it manually. Some details are on the Spybot support forum
here and here:

To fix one machine, navigate to the following registry key and delete it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR
Compatibility\{7584C670-22
To build a file to patch several machines, save the following as a .reg
file. Remove any unwanted line breaks (the file should be six lines long).
Then merge it into the registry on machines attempting to connect to RDP.
REGEDIT4
