Are wildcard characters allowed in content advisor?
I want to put in a wildcard character in the content advisor web site list, i.e. * and select never so that the user is denied access to all web sites. Are wildcard characters supported in this context? I've tried *, *.*, http://*.* and nothing seems to work. I would rather not go through the process of building the ratings file on each PC.

Wildcard character is not allowed in Content Advisor. You can do what you want with proxy and group policy.
There is a very easy way if uawe is logged in a regular user. If you log in on user's account and go to the internet options > connection tab > down to lan settings > check, "Use a proxy server for your LAN", put 127.0.0.1 in the box. Check "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" if need be.
If you want to allow certain websites, press the advanced button, go to the box at the bottom "Do not use the proxy server for address beginning with", enter the sites that user needs to access. Press ok > ok > ok. Then try to access the sites user needs, make sure it works right. All other pages should get the "Page can't be displayed" sign. Then log in as admin and go to gpedit and disable connection page.
