Do we have any way to not allow the to open new tab2 when user is already working on tab1?

Browse All TopicsI am using IE7. I have multiple websites located at the same hosted location. ASP 3.0 for these sites. I haven't tested .NET 2.0 and lower I have a Session object named Session("website").
Starting at site Website1 my Session("website") = "Website1", I open a new Tab and Start Website2 and its Session("website") = "Website2". I go back to Tab 1 Website1 and find my Session("website") = "Website2" !!!!! Any suggestions??

I see what you mean, and it is not really a bug. Tabs, just like windows running in the same process, share session cookies. The site stores the search results in something that's identified by a session cookie (since it's an ASP.NET site, and using the Session object), so both tabs use the same data. The same thing would happen in IE6 if you open two windows using CTRL-N.
The same thing happens in Firefox too
If you look in your Task Manager this will become more apparent, open IE and open 5 tabs, there is only one instance of IE explorer hence only one session. If the five tabs are all the same site they are sharing the same session. If you open a new instance of IE then and only then will you be creating a new session (after login) into your site.
