Browse All TopicsHave just reinstalled my os (xp pro sp2) onto a new raid system following a nasty hdd crash.
I have always kept my IE favorites in a different dir than that set up by windows so that I can easily back up system wide data easily from the one main location.
In the past i simply searched for the default favorites dir in the registry and changed the data to reflect my new dir path.
Anyhow..... after going through the entire system reinstall again i had windows update the ver 6 ie to the new ver 7 and now i don't seem to be able to alter the favorites path to my desired path.
The main registry key i am trying to change is below... whenever i make a change and exit it simplyreverts back!!
HKCU\software\microsoft\wi
I have dl'd and tried tweakui for XP, as someone mentioned that it could be done from within it, however, i can't find any reference to this at all.
Any help to resolve this would be appreciated.

rapserv, when you rebuilt this, did you also add any security programs that may not let you change your Favorites location, like possibly Spysweeper, or Spyware Blaster or any of the Security Suites? If you installed those before moving Your Favorites, it might just be silently preventing your change. Browsing Enable Personalized Favorites Menu?
