Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI rolled out IE7 via WSUS at the weekend. Worked fine for all users except one.
When this user tries to open IE7 it flashes (the browser and not the flash screen) up on screen for a fraction of a second and then closes again.
If they try to open a link they get:
"Windows cannot find 'http://server/page'. Make sure you typed the name corectly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Start". If I go to that link from any other PC I can get to it. The link is going to our internal time recording site and I know it is up.
No other error message and no log in the Event Log about it.
Please help!
Thanks
Mark

On this users machine, start Internet explorer with No Add-ons by Start- Run and type
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff
to see if it is an issue with some older add-ons that may be blocking it.
