You can create a Favorite and use your mouse wheel/middle button to click it and open in new tab.

Is this what you want?

Greetings, worded !

In IE, go to Tools > Options > General tab. In the Home page box, select "Use Current" page as home page or type in the address for the home page, ie, http://www.google.com

Best wishes!

War1 - I know whow to set the home page.

Its just when I open a new tab (in IE7) the page is blank.

This is putting off a few non tech people I know.

Any way to set the new tabs to open up the home page is all.
If you open up a new tab, it is normally blank.  IE does not have a way to open new in a webpage.  If you click on a link to open in new tab, then the new tab will open in the link webpage.

I've done the solution part but it still doesn't work.  I've heard that if I reinstall IE then it'll work but I'd hate to be down for the time of an IE install.  Are there any more thoughts of why it may not still work.
I've even restarted IE after any IE settings changes but still doesn't open new tab with home page.
