Adding Icons to html drop-down menus
I have a client that wants to have icons in the drop-down menu next to the choices.
This is a fixed menu with a few options.

b0lsc0tt interpreted my question the way that i was looking for, though in retrospect I wasn't specific enough in my question.
I was referring to the HTML 'select' and it's options.
Unfortunately, he told me what I already knew, which is that there really isn't a viable solution aside from Firefox so far.
The alternative is to go the custom drop-menu route though this job doesn't warrant that.

LOL. Felt like a little payback, huh? :) When I originally read this I thought the Asker wanted this in a form's select list (i.e. pulldown list). It seems you read it different and as I reread it you may be correct that s/he is asking for this in a menu. The use of "drop-down" made me think of form at first and that may have been a mistake.
However give me some credit. If I am right that the Asker wants this in a form's pull down list (i.e. using the select tag) then my comment is right, has good info, and none of your links (at least those I looked at) contradict that. I will leave the "irrelevant" comment because I disagree with your opinion on it and hope this post helps you see why. Thanks for your post though. You may be right in what the Asker wants and then would provide helpful answer to him. Hopefully we will get a response to know for sure.
