How do I Remove a Stored Password?
You don't need to go online to remove a stored password. However, make sure that you remember the password before you remove the stored one since you'll need to type it every time you wish to go online.
To remove a stored password:
1. On the Sign On screen of your AOL or AIM software, select your screen name from the drop-down menu.
2. Click the Save Password box to clear it.
The next time you connect to the AOL® or AIM® service, your password will no longer be stored on the software.
You can also change or remove a password stored on the AOL software when you are online.
To change or remove a stored AOL® password while you are online:
1. Sign on to the AOL software with the screen name that has a stored password.
2. Open the AOL Keywords window by using any one of these methods:
* On the toolbar, click the Keyword icon.
* On the Keyword menu, click Go to Keyword.
* On the keyboard, hold down the Ctrl key and tap the K key once.
3. In the AOL Keywords box, type Store Password, then click Go.
4. Do either one of the following:
* To change a stored password, type the new password in the Password: box, then click Save.
* To remove a stored password, delete the password that exists in the Password: box, click the Sign-On box to clear it, then click Save.
Note: If you wish to remove the password that protects your Personal Filing Cabinet, just click the Mail Saved on my PC or Filing Cabinet box to clear it.
