I had already disable everything inside MSCONFIG. I will try the uninstaller you linked. It must have been installed by another user (unknown) of this computer.

Browse All TopicsI am trying to clean a computer with xp home sp2 installed. However, I have trouble getting out to the Internet because each time I try to connect (broadband connection), I get a popup asking me to login to IChannel before connecting to the Internet with a user id and password. I don't know what it is and I have tried to uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs control panel and can't because it asks for the password there also.
How do I get rid of this? Thanks.

"I checkeded the hosts file and noticed some entries that should not have been there"
The most common use of HOSTS these days is to block access to sites that might cause problems. So you would expect to find many "questionable" sites listed. However, that would depend on how you set up your HOSTS file. Maybe you use it to speed up conversion of DNS addresses to IP addresses.
