how to get rid of assist.shaw.ca search
Hi, whenever I type an unavailable domain in my web browser top bar I am not getting the google search results but instead there is an assist.shaw.ca redirected page (shaw is my internet provider). For example I enter www.engfut.com and all of sudden I get http://assist.shaw.ca/shawcaassist/dnsassist/main/?domain=www.engfut.com ..
I have google set up as my primary search engine. I don't wanna any other SE to sneak in there with their background scripts.. It happens with all my browsers IE, Firefox, Chrome.
I tried all Google chrome settings - Extensions, Under Hood section - could not find any trace of shaw SE.
How to get rid of it? I am connected to the internet through my D-link router.
I have Win XP OS with all the updates..
Thanks.
J.

I tried that - unfortunately no Shaw traces showed up. Please refer to the attached log file.

I'd look at your DNS servers. Modify them to point to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 only.
After that, flush your DNS cache.... ipconfig /flushdns
Let me know your results.
