Exchange 2003 messages getting delayed in queue

I then have to force the connection to each connector for the messages to be sent.  Once I force connection the messages fly out without a problem.  This happens to every email message from every user.

Bit of background:  Using 3rd party spam appliance so main mx record at hosting company points to spam appliance and then sub domain mail.ourdomain.com points to our exchange server.  We have no problem receiving mail..just sending.Start Free Trial
