The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Exchange 2003 Transition with Exchange 2007 Send Connector

Asked by clotzki in Exchange Email Server, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), Message Queue

Hi Xperts,

I'm in the middle of Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 transition. Everything looks in place so far and I can still send/receive email normally as my mailbox is still residing in the legacy exchange 2003. To do some testing, I create a send connector default with * and mailboxes that reside on the exchange 2007 database can now send mail out as well. My assumption is by using the * default send connector, all outgoing mails are being forced to go out through that SMTP connector (which is not what I want). I have not setup RDNS on the new server and have not created any public IP NAT so I decided to remove the SMTP connector from the Exchange 2007 in hope that it will still use the Exchange 2003 outbound. However all mails are now not getting sent externally and when I cleared the queue, it goes no where.

Do i just have to wait until the DNS update? or did I do any mistake for removing the SMTP connector on the Exchange 2007 side. Send to internal recipient still works and I'm able to receive emails from external as well.
