Ring Central fax software - can't print to fax driver

I have an IBM Thinkpad 770Z with Windows 98 and OEM Ring Central 4.40.119.  I can send a quick fax OK with the RIng Central Software, but when I try to print from an application or even a test page from the "Ring Zero" printer, I get the standard "windows was unable to print a test page" error window.  I couldn't find any help on the thinkpad support website or the ring central website.  I've tried changing the port in the printer properties page to com1, com2(thinkpad modem) and FAX:, but none worked.  Do you know how to make it work?  If yours is working, could you tell me what the port is set to.  At least knowing that might help me in troubleshooting.
