PageMaker 6.0 (Mac and Windows) and above includes a separate program titled "QuarkXPress Converter" to translate QuarkXPress to PageMaker. It supports Quark 3.0 and higher. It isn't cross platform. It can only go from Quark Windows to PageMaker Windows and Quark Mac to PageMaker Mac. Contact Adobe Systems Incorporated for information on obtaining and using this program.
If you are using PageMaker 6.5 (for Mac or Windows) there is an update to QuarkXPress Converter version 3.0. This update is available from Adobe's Free Plug-ins & Updates section on their web site (www.adobe.com).

Pagemaker 7? If so, you can open a Quark file without any problems.
Publication Converter (in PM) sounds like an option.
Here is another.
