The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Symantec Go Back 3 - Need emergency recovery disk(s)

Dear Sunray 2003,
    1.)  I installed Symantec "Go Back 3" about 2 months ago.
    2.)  I'm going to assume you know the purpose of this utility.
    3.)  I was performing a SIMPLE install last night of Microsoft Visio.
    4.)  In the midst of the install - I received the dreaded Blue Screen of Death.
    5.)  I continually get the blue fatal error message and my system immediately reboots.
    6.)  It doesn't matter if I safe boot, safe boot with networking, etc. - I am completely dead in the water as far as my
         C Drive is concerned.
    7.)  If the lovely piece of code that Symantec butchered from Roxio ("Go Back 3") was doing its job I would see
          a "hit space bar now to restore your system to an earlier setting."  But that is NOT happening.  I should have known
          Symantec was poison - never again.
    8.)  Now, as a last resort I am searching for a bootable rescue disk.  Something that I can boot that has the Go
          Back 3 "drivers" that can access an earlier restore point.

I will be forever in your debt if you come through.  I have search the useless Symantec support site and I only found the most vague of references to what I need.
