Maybe I misread this page but it just gave the most basic instructions as to how to add or remove an item from the list.  I can do this.

My problem to be more specific is that I have 1000's of entries in the list.  They are not sorted in any way.  If I gave you this list and said 'get rftgssd@smellmyfeet.com' out of this list how would you FIND it..

Removing it is easy... if you can find it..

Hope that is more clear

May be this will work
Close OE
now go to registry (start --> run --> regedit)
go to Edit --> find
give in the email address you want to remove.
search.

I added a test email address in block sender list and when i searched in registry , it lead me here
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{F8BC1841-D213-44C8-AF8E-5D46DE841C20}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Block Senders\Mail\Criteria\000

I guess it should find in this location for you aswell.. You can the delete it there.. Will that work for you ?

Hello,

Sorry fo the delay.. I was able to isolate the address using the registry search feature. If you could answer some questions about this I would apprecaite it:

1) Why does nothing show up when I use the search feature for explorer?
2) I would think the registry had more important things to be dealing with than something as mundane as this... Wouln't a simple text file in the system folder be much simpler for this kind of list?
3) In that vein, does having 1000's of entries in my registry clog it up/slow it down/ make it less efficient? Should I remove all the addresses?
4) Lastly, I have NEVER edited my registry for anything.  Exactly what do I do to delete it? Simply select everthnig and press delete? or is there a remove key function that handles it cleaner?

Again I apologize for the delay to your quick response (vacation).

Thanks

John

John,

The default search of windows will not search in registry.

These kind of important info from OE are kept in registry .I donot believe a text file is present for that. it is just the way outlook express is setup

You can have many entries and I donot believe there is any limit on that .. Hopefully it should not slow down your system

Follow procedure here to backup registry first before deleting any keys
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/registry.htm

yes just open it , search for the address you want to remove and remove it

ok..I guess I'll try this.. One last question.. Shouldn't there be an easier way to manage this? I mean...what if my grandmother accidently put me in her blocked list? She wouldn't have the faintest idea how to do this stuff even with instructions..

It seems ridiculous that you can just click a button to put someone on the list but you need to delete registry keys to remove it.

I'm venting at microsoft, sorry.

Thanks Again

John
