If its a Release candidate i suggest you use Install just for the fun of it...For stability and correctness you should probably get the Final versions..which will have most bugs fixed. good luck

Question
Just downloaded and installed Service Pack 3 for Office XP Pro all the icons are gone from my start menu
Just downloaded and installed Service Pack 3 for Office XP Pro all the icons are gone from my start menu, it installed with no problem and when done it displayed a window stating:
Service Pack 3 for Office XP Pro has been installed successfully
But no icons, and when I go into Program Files, there is one file called Office Update11 and there are no programs in the file, just an empty CABS folder and then some des and as files and one dll and one text containing the following text:
V3_2|511974|INSTALL|MAINSP
V3_2|511691|INSTALL|VSDEBU
V3_2|512012|INSTALL|MSCONV
V3_2|511474|INSTALL|SHARED
ANY SUGGESTIONS? I was thinking I would reinstall the program, but I wonder if I should.

can you see something under Start>programs>
can you see any of the Office applications.
Go to Control Panel> Add Remove programs and see whether Office XP is listed there or not.
If it is there then try to repair it.
if this does not solves the problem then running the setup again is the only solution i guess.
