The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Cannot Import Inbox.dbx (Outlook Express not responding)

Asked by iskobalt in Miscellaneous Software, Microsoft Applications

Tags: import, cannot

Greetings!  My Outlook Express 6.0 for some reason I dont know suddenly stopped responding.  I was forced to reboot my computer.  After reboot I can no longer open Outlook Express it stops responding after flashing the small title box of Outlook Express 6.0 (blue box).

In order to fix the problem I tried to scanreg /restore in order to load registry 3 days ago but did not worked so I restored back to my original registry.  I also tried to remove Outlook Express 6.0 as well as Internet Explorer 6.0 and reinstall it but it did not solved the problem.  The last procedure I did was  I went to the directory where OE stores the INBOX, SENT ITEMS etc.  I renamed Inbox.dbx, sent items.dbx and the rest of the folders needed.  After I renamed the said files I was able to open OE 6.0 right away because the OE created another set of Inobx.dbx etc.

I need the contents of my previous inbox.dbx and sent.dbx  My plan is to import the said files to be able to view it but I can not import it because my OE 6.0 hungs / stop responding when it is about to import the messages from my previous Inbox.dbx  I also tried to import my previous Inbox.dbx using other computers OE 6.0 but to no avail due to the same problem, OE 6.0 stops responding.

Is there a way I can fix my inbox.dbx in order to access the contents?  like the one for Microsoft Outlook "scanpst" tool wherein it can fix corrupted pst files.  I think the said files are corrupted which causes OE to stop responding.

Please Help.  Thanks
